Situated inside the Mulher Fort, the Rameshwar temple is a small structure consisting only of a small Garbhagruha with a Phamsana style shikara. The Fort itself is said to have been built by the Bagul Dynasty that rules the region between the 14th and 17th century CE, though the exact date of the construction of the temple is currently unknown.
Irrespective of its size, the temple is decorated with profusely carved stone panels and niches with floral and animal motifs. The structure is also flanked by a small kund having stone embarkments.
For this project, SMA was roped in as Conservation Consultants and the scope of work covers the detailed documentation, condition mapping, estimation, conservation consultancy and supervision of work execution.
