The Children’s Home is a juvenile jail which was built in 1804. The aim of the project was to revamp the existing dark and dank surrounding into a vibrant atmosphere with child-friendly design interventions that is conducive to positive overall development of the children. 

The jail is a place where children in conflict with law or those in need of care and protection are placed. SMA was appointed in April 2023 for sprucing up the barren areas into recreation basketball play area and an open gym for the boys. All the design considerations and colour theme were proposed after deep research and study of resident children’s psychology. The process included taking several inputs and guidance from the Chairperson of the Justice Juvenile Board and the Superintendent in-charge of the Jail.
